BRIEF HISTORY
Founded in January 2018 by Mr. A. Y. Dzramado, the first President of Gamtion College of Art and Design (GCAD-GH), Gamtion College of Art and Design is a private institution established under the Education Act, 1961 (Act 87), Amendment Act (Act 226) of 1965, and Act 778(28) of 2008. The institution was created with a clear vision of identifying, nurturing, and developing the creative talents of young people while contributing meaningfully to national development through Art and Design education.
GCAD began its operations at Zink Hope Hostel in Accra Newtown, opposite House Party Computers, with an initial enrollment of just one student a few months before the school’s official registration. Despite its humble beginnings, the institution has demonstrated remarkable growth and resilience over the years.
Today, GCAD continues to expand rapidly due to the visibility of its current campus, the quality of training offered, and the significant impact it has made in the lives of its students. This positive growth and commitment to development have led to the establishment of a new branch in Sogakope in the Volta Region.
The institution is dedicated to equipping students with practical and entrepreneurial skills through a highly hands-on learning approach, with training focused almost entirely on practical work. GCAD welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of age, gender, or marital status, to become part of its growing legacy and prepare themselves for opportunities in the entrepreneurial and creative industries.
